VRYGROND COMMUNITY CENTRE
It is an exampler of cooperative NGO facility and information hub to the community it currently houses different organisation organisations,these organisations focused on different needs in the community such as youth development early childhood development and nutrition to name a few but bridging needs required in the community.
CAPRICORN PRIMARY SCHOOL
First school in Vrygrond build by the Trust,the schools serves a multicultural socially diverse learner population it offers equal opportunity for learners with varied academic ability and strives to achieve excellence in academic,cultural,sporting,community and social endeavours in an inclusive environment that supports learning and teachings.
CAPRICORN PRIMARY SCHOOL
The protesting in the community had a positive result. Members of the community starting joining forces as one voice to make themselves heard. Out of this unity and Forum was formed with an interim committee selected. The objective of the forum was to be a voice for the community to address all the issues and needs in the community.In December 2015 the Vrygrond Community Development Forum was officially launched and The Vrygrond Community Development Trust, general manager was elected , by the community ,as one of the officials of the forum.
The Forum and the Trust have embarked on a journey of rebuilding relationships and restoring the community, to ensure the growth and further development of Vrygrond.
VRYGROND COMMUNITY lIBRARY
The Library was opened in March 1997 by Dr. Frene Gunwale and today is managed by librarian Jane Sylvester. The library has become a resource Centre to the community at large. The Vrygrond Community Library serves over 1000 children and 800 adults, it has many other activities for the learners which includes after school reading, assisting with homework and holiday programs. There are fun activities for the elderly as well, such as bingo games and senior appreciation days. The library will also be embarking on a exciting journey of transformation in 2023
THE SUNRISE EDUCARE
The first Early Childhood development Centre in history build by the VCDT it is now in exsistence for 35 years ,currently there are +100 learners age 29momths to 5 years old attending at the Centre,Sunrise has also achieved the highest rating on the EKERS quality check list which measure space ,langauge and reasoning teacher child interaction to name but a few.Many of these kids then move to Capricorn Primary School to start foundation phase education.The VCDT supports this centre by providing any necessary resources needed.
